Email the Special Events Coordinator regarding this application.

Status: Approved

Comments: --It is understood that prepackaged food will be available at aid stations and a finish line BBQ will be prepared by event organizers. It is also understood that a "Preview Run" will occur on April 6th and is proposing food 'potluck style'. If the event(s) will be serving food to the public the food supplier will be required to hold an appropriate retail food license. Service of foods by an unlicensed entity is not approved. Food and beverages at aid stations shall be limited to commercial, individually prepackaged items (energy bars, etc.) that do not require refrideration. The applicant is communicating with Consumer Protection to determine food licensing requirements. --Water for drinking and energy drink preparation shall be from a municipal, treated source and transported in clean food grade containers. --10 portable restrooms are proposed at the start/finish area and each aid station will have access to vault toilets. The Towers Aid station will have a 'backcountry' toilet setup with a double-lined bucket, snap-on seat, and absorbents (wood chips, kitty litter) which will be dumped in an RV dump station. Ensure that that dumping of this solid absorbent material is approved at the proposed RV dump station, or alternative approved disposal would be required (such as in the trash). --Two handwashing stations are proposed at the start/finish area. --Ensure handwashing stations are adequately stocked with soap, water, paper towels and a waste bin. --Ensure adequate trash receptacles are available throughout the event, especially at aid stations, start/finish and portable restroom areas. --Ensure all staff and volunteers are familiar with the emergency action plan.
