Description:
THESE ARE ACTUAL BASS FISHING TOURNAMENTS. They are held from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for the mini tournaments and 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for all day tournaments. Individuals and teams go on the water and catch fish (card tournaments only for minis), and weigh in tournaments for Team Series. Awards/prizes are passed out after the tournament at the South Bay parking lot. Comments: Please provide more information: -Per the hours of the event provided, the event will occur both during daytime hours (8 am-3 pm) and nighttime hours (4 pm-9 pm) however, the Health Department document states that the event will only occur during the daytime therefore no lighting would be need. For days of the event that will occur after dark, indicate if the area will be adequately lit for safety. -There is a discrepancy in the dates of the event between the online application, Emergency Plan, and the attached application form. Please ensure application materials are updated to accurately reflect the dates and times of the event. Please provide the complete list of dates in response to this comment. Updated Additional comments 3/25/2024: --It is understood that no food is to be provided for the event therefore, a 2024 Colorado Retail Food License or 2024 Larimer County Temporary Food License is not required. --Per the application, bottled water will be available during the event. --There will be access to four 55-gallon trash bins at the pavilion and two dumpsters located near the restrooms. --The event will utilize restrooms and hand sinks at the South Bay and South Bay Pavilion. --Please ensure all volunteers/participants are aware of the emergency action/communication plans. The applicants did provide a weather plan as well as event contacts in the Emergency Action Plan. --The applicant clarified that the event will be illuminated in the boat dock, ramp, parking area and in the area of prizes. --The dates and times were clarified and updated in the application.

Poudre Fire Authority

Comments: Thank you for the opportunity to review this application as it pertains to the requirements of the adopted Fire Code. Based upon the information submitted, the Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) approves this application. PFA does not regulate personal watercraft not used commercially. However, for the safety of boaters and should the need arise, PFA makes the following recommendations for portable fire extinguishers: each boat should have (1) portable fire extinguisher at minimum. Portable fire extinguishers should be a dry chemical-type, a minimum size of 2A:10-B:C, and should have been inspected, tested, and maintained by a qualified portable fire extinguisher company within the last 12 months, with a current tag which indicates such service. Portable fire extinguishers that have been purchased from a vendor without verifying that they are in good operating condition may not be reliable. PFA does not endorse the use of consumer grade portable fire extinguishers, such as those manufactured by Kidde or similar, as these are routinely recalled by the manufacturer, and they may fail to operate properly when needed most. PFA does endorse the use of commercial grade portable fire extinguishers as these can be serviced for many years and are more reliable and cost effective for the owner.
