The mission of Green Events is to inspire and encourage health and fitness in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner. The Spring Equinox Half Marathon & 4-Mile race is one of several events organized throughout the year to encourage and celebrate physical and mental wellness and raise funds for local school groups. The race is both a competitive and recreational event with professional timing and awards for overall and age group winners as well as generous time limits to encourage all levels of fitness from walking to running as well as adaptive athletes using pushrim/wheelchairs. Local High School Sports Teams and or music depts/clubs. Groups that support the event with volunteer groups receive a donation for their team/club/organization. In the past this has been Rocky Mountain High School cross country and wrestling teams, Poudre High School cross country team, and Fossil Ridge High School Cross Country Team. Will be similar in 2024 but we have additional requests from other groups/non-profits to be involved as well. This will be the 9th annual event but the first year at the new location of Sparge Brewing in Wellington. Previously the event was held at Anheuser-Busch but since COVID the Biergarten/Tour Center has not re-opened so Sparge Brewing is a better venue for the start/finish of the race. Part of the half marathon course will run on the previous course. ? Town of Wellington Special Event Permit Application has been submitted. ? Special Event Liquor License has been submitted to and accepted by the Town of Wellington. Public Hearing before the Town’s Local Liquor Approval Authority (the Board of Trustees) is scheduled for Feb 13, 2024, at 6:30pm at the Leeper Center (3800 Wilson Ave.). ? Comments: CSP needs to know if the event is requesting CSP uniformed traffic control or if they are planning to use professional traffic control services on the frontage road or any other location. Typically CSP would only staff a state highway outside of any municipality if/when needed.

LETA 911

Status: More Information Needed

Comments: No concerns for the 911 infrastructure or event impact to the 911 system. With the total attendees reaching 1100 individuals a keyword alert for this event is advised. With the event being held in March the risk of weather impact and hazards should be considered along with unknown hazards / bad actors that could impact the event or area. If a keyword is desired, the applicant would need to advertise the keyword opt in process to their attendees 2 weeks before the event. The keyword alert would only be used by LCSO or LETA in the event of an emergency impacting the immediate area or the attendees.

Comments: I recommend working/checking with the Town of Wellington on the parking proposal since you are proposing having participants park in a neighborhood. If this is public right-of-way people are allowed to park there but you should reach out so everyone is aware that a large event is taking place in there neighborhood.
