Description:
Greenhouse Scholars is an education nonprofit based in Boulder, CO. We serve extremely high-achieving, under-resourced college students through a financial assistance and leadership, life, and professionals skills-based program. Our students range in age from 17 to 21. Each year, we bring all of our students (roughly 100) to Boulder, CO for a 4-day Summer Symposium. It's tradition that we devote one day to a half-day outdoor experience which exposes our students to the wonderful outdoor recreation that Colorado has to offer, to new outdoor activities, and builds relationships among the students. This year, our outdoor activity will be on Sunday, August 6th, from 8am to 1pm. We are hoping to take our students (by bus) to a scenic and beautiful reservoir where they can paddle board, kayak, swim, hike, and hang out in nature. We've partnered with Avid4 Adventure, a leading outdoor recreation and education company to lead these activities for our students, providing all the necessary equipment, safety gear, and trained professionals. Our plan is to arrive at 8am, engage in activities from 8am to 12pm, have a boxed lunch from 12pm - 12:45pm, and be leaving on the 2 buses by 1pm. Depending on what sites are available at Carter Lake to host our group, we can provide additional resources to accommodate us (trash cans, tables, chairs, shade tents, etc.). Greenhouse Scholars is licensed 501c3 nonprofit that has been serving Colorado youth for 18 years. If you have any questions or concerns about this event, agenda, or anything else, please reach out. Thank you, Jacob Sorum
