Description:
The 11th Annual Horsetooth Tri Training and Open Water Swim Series is a weekly non-competitive training event offering swim and run, swim only, or run only options for participants. It will be held every Wednesday evening during the summer for 10 weeks, starting June 7th and ending August 23rd, 2023. An open water swim clinic is offered every week at 5pm.

The swim course consists of a 500m loop starting and ending at the Horsetooth South Inlet Bay swim beach. Participants will have the option of doing 1 or multiple laps of the course up to a max swim distance of 3000m or 1 hour time limit. The transition area will be located in the Group Pavilion area. The 5k run course starts and ends near the transition area at the Pavilion at the very north end of the parking lot and the course is an out and back run on the camp road around the south end of the reservoir to the dead end turn around. The run course stays entirely inside the park.

The swim course will be monitored by kayaks and Stand Up Paddle boards, lifeguards will be located on the course and EMS/ambulance will be on location at start/finish area.

Comments: -Water for drinking shall be provided from a public supply transported and dispensed in clean containers designed for potable water service. Potable water may also be available from taps onsite or commercial bottled water. -Food service at any aid stations does not require a licensed vendor provided food and beverage service is limited to: --Service of commercially prepared and individually packaged foods and beverages that do not require refrigeration. Examples include packaged candy, power bars, bottled water, soda or juice. --Service of hot coffee, tea, instant hot beverages. --Service of donuts, bagels or pastries that are commercially prepared and do not require refrigeration. --Service of whole uncut fruits and vegetables. -Any other food vendors are required to hold a 2023 retail food license or 2023 Larimer County temporary food license. -Adequate toilets need to be provided at the start/finish area and as necessary at aid stations. Adequate waste receptacles shall also be provided at start/finish areas and at any aid stations. -This event will occur on County open space. Details regarding the number of restroom facilities and capacity for the event need to be coordinated with the Natural Resources Department. -Please ensure all staff and volunteers are familiar with the emergency action and communications plan.
