Venus de Miles is Colorado’s original and largest all-women’s road ride and finish festival. Women from around Colorado and across the country ride together for sisterhood and community, ending at an iconic finish festival with food, drinks, live music, wellness activities, and more.
Venus de Miles encourages all riders to fundraise for Greenhouse Scholars, an education nonprofit that cultivates extraordinary leaders to change low-income families and communities. They are creating results through the transformative power of higher education by working with the most inspiring role models from our country’s lowest resourced communities. A portion of all Venus de Miles profits as well as all fundraising dollars go directly to Greenhouse Scholars.
Participants are expected from all over Colorado, in addition to neighboring states. We are targeting 1200 riders for our 16th year and will continue in Lyons for our 3rd year at Bohn Park. Venus originally started in Longmont at Prospect Park but moved to Lyons after 12 years. We are estimating 50 spectators to be spread throughout the course, in addition to 150 volunteers.

Additional Information Submitted by Applicant
1. Date Submitted: 03/21/2023We understand organized bike tours historically have not been able to travel up to Carter Lake due to boating traffic congestion. However, we are hoping to offer the Carter Lake section as an option only to those riding our 66-mile course. We have planned an alternate route for riders to continue straight on S County Rd 29 instead of turning right onto Pole Hill Rd up to the lake, and are estimating that half of our 66-mile riders will choose this option. We hope that the low volume of cyclists choosing this option in this area over a short amount of time will make this option possible. We sincerely appreciate your consideration.
