Colorado Bass Nation youth will conduct a High School Bass fishing team tournament on 05/21/2023 To start our fishing season and it will culminate with a final state tournament on 08/26/2023 (not sure if I need two permits for Horsetooth since our Insurance will cover us for the entire year, did not need last year).
The tournaments will consist of 2 High School anglers in each boat, with an adult boat captain. Each team will fish for their 5 largest bass to be measured and weighed on the boat. Each fish will be released immediately and the fish is recorded on a card that will be turned in to the tournament director at the end of the event. Finally, all anglers, boaters and parents will meet at the south bay bathrooms at the south end of the lake where we will award the anglers their trophies.
For the state tournament in August we will also be qualifying two teams from the HS division to represent Colorado at the High School National BASS team tournament.
Emergency numbers will be given out at the pre tournament rules and safety meeting before the event begins. Insurance has been applied for and will be attached as soon as it is received.
