The marathon navigates through Carriage Hills neighborhood and eventually joins the Lake Estes Trail used by both half and full marathon. The Marathon continues north on Dry Gulch Rd to Devils Gulch Road, short distance on wide shoulder Hwy 34 to Elk Trail Court and onto Lake Estes Trail. Comments: The Health Department has no significant concerns and ask that the standard requirements are followed for race events: -Portable restrooms shall be provided with adequate trash receptacles throughout the race course on County roads, as well as at the and start/finish areas. It is understood that 8 portable toilets will be provided at the start area. 2 portable handwashing stations shall be provided at the start area and other portable restroom areas throughout the race. A map and key were provided for the course restrooms but no information was provided for restroom access for the finish area at the Estes Park Highschool Bobcat Stadium. If the high school stadium restrooms are not open for use, please provide a minimum of 6-8 portables to accommodate 800 people for approximately 2 hours and 2 handwashing stations. -If food and beverage service is provided at aid stations, it shall be limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other prepackaged/shelf-stable food items. (Application states no food will be provided) -Water for drinking and preparing energy drinks shall be from a public, treated water supply, and transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers. -If food is provided for any portion of the event, food vendors shall hold a 2023 Colorado Retail Food License or 2023 Larimer County Temporary Food Permit. -Please ensure staff and volunteers are familiar with the emergency communications plan. Aid stations shall have means of communication in an emergency.
