Engineering

Status: Approved

Comments: Route maps received 05/23/2023 mmj From what I can tell on the website and from the latest maps that were submitted there are still portions of the route that conflict with a previously approved event, the Lake to Lake Triathlon. I cannot approve until resolved. Updated route maps received 06/22/2023 mmj Thank you for the revised routes/maps - Rusty

Health

Status: Approved

Comments: The Health Department has no significant concerns and ask that the standard requirements are followed for race events: -Water for drinking and preparing energy drinks shall be from a public, treated water supply, and transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers. -The website indicates that snacks and food will be provided. All food vendors are required to hold a 2023 retail food license or 2023 temporary event license, or shall be a Larimer County nonprofit organization per food safety regulations. -Please note that if any food and beverage will be available at aid stations it shall be limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other commercially prepared, prepackaged/shelf-stable food items (such as individually prepackaged snacks) or whole, uncut fruits or vegetables. Foods and drinks that require preparation/refrigeration are not approved without proper permitting. -Provide first aid kits at aid stations for minimal injuries as well as effective communication services in the event of an emergency throughout race course. -Portable restrooms, including ADA compliant units, must be provided in adequate numbers throughout the event to supplement any permanent restroom facilities and throughout the course and finish areas. The application indicates that fully stocked rest stops will be provided every 10-12 miles. Please ensure adequate trash receptacles are provided throughout the race course and start/transition/finish areas. -At least one portable handwashing station shall be provided in each portable restroom area (1 per every 5 portable restrooms is recommended). -Please ensure that all staff and volunteers are familiar with the emergency communications plan. Please note for large events (greater than 500 people), or hazardous activities (such as motor sports), appropriate medical care needs to be provided. The Special Events regulation provides guidelines for both ambulance and first aid services
