We would like access for individual runners on Centennial Drive, on the portion shown on map, approximately 0.5 miles. Individuals will begin at the bottom of the incline and run/walk to the top of the hill. We will have additional individuals watching for oncoming traffic and detouring all participants and spectators from being on the roadway. This activity will happen on the west shoulder of Centennial Drive.
Description:
I am requesting permission to hold a 1/2 mile walking event on Centennial Road by Rotary Park. The walk will be held on Thursday, May 26th, 2022 with a start time of 10:00 am. There will be 100 participants total.The individuals will participate 10-15 at one time, in shifts.
Buses are rented from CSU and they will drop off the participants at Rotary Park. The buses will leave the area and park offsite until the event is completed, at approximately 11:30 am.
10-15 participants will walk down, from Rotary Park, along the west shoulder of Centennial Road, to theNorth end of the dam. Participants will walk up the west shoulder of Centennial Road until they reachRotary Park. Once participants have completed the event, they will sit on the west side of CentennialRoad, where a large boulder is located. Then the next wave of participants will walk down to the same starting point.
After all 100 participants have completed the event, the CSU buses will come back to pick them up and escort them back to CSU campus.

Comments: The Health Department does not have significant concerns with this event and asks that standard requirements are followed for walking/race events:-Water for drinking and preparing energy drinks (if applicable) shall be from a public, treated water supply, and transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers, or from potable water taps provided in the park.
-The application indicates that no food will be served, therefore a 2023 retail food license or 2023 temporary event license would not be required.
-If there are proposed aid stations, food and beverage available at the aid stations shall be limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other commercially prepared, prepackaged/shelf-stable food items (such as individually prepackaged snacks) or whole, uncut fruits or vegetables. Foods and drinks that require preparation/refrigeration are not approved without proper permitting.
-Provide first aid kits at any first aid stations at the event.
-No information was provided on toilet facilities for the event. Please note adequate number of restrooms must be available for attendees at the event. Per the planned route, it appears restrooms at Rotary Park could be utilized. Based on the anticipated attendance of the event, park restrooms should be adequate.
-Please ensure there is an emergency communications plan and all volunteers are aware of the plan.
