Description:

The 21st annual Buffalo Bicycle Classic will be on Sunday Sept 10, 2023. The BBC is a scholarship fundraiser that supports need-based students able to attend CU Boulder. All recipients are Colorado high school seniors with a 3.5 GPA and high merit.

In the past the BBC has had a total of 1100 - 1500 riders. For the past two years, a lot of registrations happen in the last two weeks. Half of the riders will go up Boulder Canyon on the Buff Epic ride and the other half will go north toward Carter Lake on the Foothills Routes.

Due to the construction on Highway 7, our Epic route went to Allenspark and then back to Ward and down Lefthand Canyon the last two years. This year we are going back to our 2019 route, Ward- Allenspark- Estes Park- Lyons. I included a Buff Epic map below along with the 100 Foothills - Carter Lake map.

Estimated Participants: 1500   Estimated Spectators: 100

  Food is being served: CATERED
 Alcohol IS being served.

Additional Information Submitted by Applicant

1. Date Submitted: 03/09/2023
I wanted to add some additional information to our application. Our ride benefits scholarships to the University of Colorado Boulder. Only 300 riders will be going up to Carter Lake/Larimer County out of our 1500 riders. Our event does not go thru Longmont. Last year I sent the Mayor an email stating that. I sent Cindy Claggett an application for Carter Lake. Again, we will only have 300 riders, not 1500, going up to Carter Lake. I have attached our emergency plan. We will have 5-8 United portalets at the aid stations. We are serving alcohol only at the finish on CU campus. The BBC gets the liquor permit through the University of Colorado. I have attached our non-profit status for our application fee. The Buffalo Bicycle Classic is a fundraiser for the University of Colorado Boulder.
