The start & finish of both races, the 4-Mile course and the first and last 3 miles of the Half Marathon course are all within City of Fort Collins City limits, a special events permit application has also been submitted to the City of Fort Collins for these areas of the event.
The Half Marathon is an out and back course with a total of 3.5 miles of dirt roads in Larimer County which this permit application is for. Specifically N CR 11 (North of Douglas Road) and E CR 56 to a turnaround just before the entrance to the Annunciation Chapel @ 290 E CR 56.

This event raises and donates funds to local high school cross country programs, specifically Rocky Mountain and Poudre High Schools.
The purpose of the event is a community fitness event to raise funds for high school cross country programs. The race is competitive with timing and overall and age group awards.
There is a 3 hour and 30 minute time limit for the half marathon race (average pace of 16:03 per mile). During this time traffic control signage & devices and personnel (Police Officers, Flaggers, volunteer course marshals) will be on course for the safety of participants.
There are 3 aid stations on the course providing volunteer support with hydration fluids, first aid, and portable toilets. With the out and back nature of the course this give the participants a total of 5 aid station stops during their race.

Comments: -Per the application, prepackaged food will be provided at the event, however details on type of food and location of food service were not provided. Please note that food and beverage service at aid stations shall be limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other prepackaged/shelf-stable food items (such as individually prepackaged snacks). Foods and drinks that require refrigeration are not approved without proper permitting (Application states prepacked food will be provided.). Only individually packaged, shelf-stable food/drink items (no refrigeration required) or whole, uncut fruits and vegetables are allowed at the event without a Colorado Retail Food License. If any other food vendors are proposed, vendors must hold 2023 Colorado Retail Food License or temporary food license.-Water for drinking and preparing energy drinks shall be from a public, treated water supply, and transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers.
-It is unclear from the application materials how many restrooms (permanent and/or portable toilets) will be available for attendees. Please note that an adequate number of restrooms must be provided at the event, including at least one that is ADA compliant. If Anheuser is allowing use of their restroom facilities, portable toilets may be needed to supplement the event. It is always recommended to have portable restrooms at start/finish areas and throughout the race course. -Please ensure at least one portable hand washing sink is provided in each portable restroom area. The hand washing station must be adequately stocked with soap, paper towels and a waste bin.
-Please ensure first aid stations are stocked with first aid kits.
-Please ensure an adequate number of waste receptacles are provided through the race course, such as at first aid stations, start/finish areas and restrooms areas.
-Please ensure that a detailed emergency communications plan is available, and that all staff and volunteers are familiar with the plan and communication equipment.
-Please note that for large events (greater than 500 people), the Special Events regulation provides guidelines for both ambulance and first aid services.
