Comments: 4/24/23 Update: Thank you for providing additional information via email. It is understood that all rest areas along the course route will have portable toilets, ADA compliant. No food prep will occur on the route- it will be prepackaged snacks will only. Food prep and alcohol will occur only on the CSU campus at the stadium. Original Comments: The Health Department has no significant concerns and asks that the standard requirements are followed for bike/road events. Prior to providing approval for the event, we would request that the applicant provide an event overview packet as was submitted in previous years for this event. Our preliminary comments are as follows: -It is understood that the event will start/finish at the CSU stadium. Information provided for previous Ride to End ALZ events indicated that permanent restroom facilities will be provided at the CSU stadium (start/finish). In addition to permanent restroom facilities, an adequate number of portable restrooms and ADA compliant units should be provided as needed throughout the bike route, including at transition or "rest" areas/ first aid station areas. At least one handwashing station must be provided at each portable restroom area. Please indicate plans for portable restrooms/handwashing stations along the route. -Adequate trash receptacles shall be provided throughout the course route on County roads, especially in portable toilet areas, rest areas, food service areas and aid stations. -Food and beverage service at aid stations/rest areas shall be limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other prepackaged/shelf-stable food items unless proper permitting is obtained (such as a 2023 Colorado Retail Food License or 2023 Larimer County Temporary Food License). -Water (and water used to prepare energy drinks) shall be from a public, treated water supply transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers. -Provide first aid kits at aid stations to treat minimal injuries and provide effective emergency communication services at aid stations in the event of an emergency. Ensure all staff/volunteers are familiar with the event emergency communication plan. -The application indicates that food for the event will be catered. The event website suggests the Champions Dinner will be held at Ginger and Baker in Fort Collins on Saturday, June 10th and food will be catered at the New Belgium Porch at Canvas Stadium on Sunday, June 11th. Please note all caterers and other food vendors must hold a 2023 Colorado Retail Food Establishment License or 2023 Larimer County Temporary Food License. This includes mobile units (food trucks/carts), CSU cafeterias, Canvas Stadium vendors, restaurants, etc.Larimer County Emergency Management

Comments: With 5/12/23 route change, we will need to know what new law enforcement need are. Please contact Sheriff staff at 498-5348 to discuss law enforcement support (currently have two positions assigned that no longer exist). Taft Hill (CR19) is very dangerous for bike riders between Trilby and 57th due to narrow shoulder, potential truck traffic/high volume of vehicles, and high speeds (55mph+).Thompson Valley EMS

Comments: Two questions for clarification: 1. What's your plan for onsite medical care or staffing first aid stations? Will there be any medical providers following the riders? 2. Are you aware the Ride the Rockies bicycle tour will also be occurring at the same time on June 11th and may combine or cross paths with your 100 & 60 mile route?
