Comments: Although the Health Department does not have significant concerns with this request as it is a recurring event with a start and finish at New Belgium, we would ask for additional information prior to approval. Please provide information on the plan for portable restrooms services, aid stations, handwashing stations, food/drinks at aid stations, potable water availability, and proposed catered food service. In previous FoCo Fondo events, Gallegos provided portable restrooms and sanitation services. Update 4/21/23: Thank you for providing additional information. -It was acknowledged that 15 portable restrooms and 5 double handwashing stations will be provided at New Belgium. An adequate number of portable restrooms and trash receptacles should be provided throughout the race course on County Roads in addition to the start/finish areas. -Water for drinking and preparing energy drinks shall be from a public, treated water supply, and transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers. -It is understood that post event food will be provided by multiple vendors (Lickskillet, Rio Grande Restaurant, and Lil' smoke korean BBQ). Please note all food vendors are required to hold a 2023 retail food license or 2023 temporary event license. -Please note that if any food and beverage will be available at aid stations it shall be limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other commercially prepared, prepackaged/shelf-stable food items (such as individually prepackaged snacks) or whole, uncut fruits or vegetables. Foods and drinks that require preparation/refrigeration are not approved without proper permitting. -Provide first aid kits at aid stations for minimal injuries as well as effective communication services in the event of an emergency throughout race course. -Please ensure that all staff and volunteers are familiar with the emergency communications plan.
