Climber Survival Methods plans to facilitate a 2 day seminar that will teach personal on rope skills, climber and belayer rescue in the single and multi-pitch setting, and multi-stage tandem rappel techniques.

Day 1 (Saturday, June 25)- we would like to utilize the Torture Chamber Bouldering Area, located south of the intersection of Centennial Drive and County Road 38E to teach rescue skills in the single pitch setting.

Day 2 (Sunday, June 26)- we would like to utilize Horsetooth Rock, specifically the west face, to teach rescue skills in the multi pitch setting.

Regarding the Criteria listed in the Parks/Open Space Requirements PDF:

-Our seminar is in line with the missions of the Larimer Country Natural Resources Department; our impact on the landscape will be negligible, and no permanent anchoring will be utilized. Leave No Trace principles will be discussed and utilized.

-There will be no impact on adjacent properties, public or private, and trash will be managed and policed by students and staff. Parking impact will be minimized by car-pooling from an off-site location.

-Impacts on other users/uses of Larimer County parks/open spaces will be minimal. The nature of the content and the equipment will allow Climber Survival Methods to easily change routes or areas to accommodate other users. This also lends itself to easily changing venues, should the need arise.

-Our insurance meets the requirements of bullet
