Comments: The Health Department has no significant concerns and ask that the standard requirements are followed for race events:
=Portable restrooms shall be provided with adequate trash receptacles throughout the race course on County roads, as well as the and start/finish areas. A map and key were provided for the course restrooms but no information was provided for restroom access for the finish area at Estes Park HS. If the high school stadium restrooms are not open for use, please provide a minimum of 6-8 portables to accommodate 800 people for approximately 2 hours and 2 handwashing stations.
=Please keep food and beverage service at aid stations limited to water, energy drinks, gels, and other prepackaged/shelf-stable food items. (Application states prepacked.)
=Water for drinking and preparing energy drinks shall be from a public, treated water supply, and transported and dispensed in clean food grade containers.
=Food for post-race event shall be provided by 2022 licensed retail food establishments (restaurants), licensed temporary event vendors, and/or licensed mobile units (trucks/carts). From the race website, it is understood that the Estes Park Egg & I and Poppy's Pizza will be providing finishers with food at the stadium concession stands.
