62nd annual Carter Lake Open Regatta: a sail boat race.
This event is an annual gathering of sailors from Colorado and elsewhere coming to Carter Lake for several days of sailboat racing.
For 2022 we have extended the racing schedule to host the Santana 20 Class Championships. We will be providing additional support boats for the races, so we do not anticipate the need for additional support from the Park Staff on the water. We anticipate 12-18 boats from outside of Carter Lake to participate. We anticipate 3-5 hours of racing on the water per day. The balance of the hours of event would be held at the clubhouse.
We will not be selling or serving alcohol at the event; however, participants or sponsors may provide alcohol, thus we plan on purchasing a liquor license.

On-site restrooms are outhouses with no running water for handwashing, therefore a handwashing station shall be provided. There are various options ofr renting or purchasing portable handwashing stations, but a simple camping-style, do-it-yourself setup would be adequate. This type of setup includes a table with a water container with a valve, a bucket to collect wastewater (to be dumped in the outhouses), soap, paper towel and a trash receptacle. Examples provided here:
Potable drinking water shall be provided by means of bottled water or clean beverage dispensers filled with treated water.
Since this is an outdoor event, it is recommended that shade be provided for off-water activities at the clubhouse if not already provided by the coordinators.
