Description:
I'm co-founder of Sustain Music & Nature, a 501c3 nonprofit that uses music to get people engaged with the outdoors. Our Sagebrush Session program was one of the only safe live music events in 2020 in all of Colorado. These Sessions are outdoor acoustic concerts paired with naturalist/ranger-guided hikes. The mission of the program is to introduce new audiences to their public lands. In 2020, 70% of participants had never visited our featured locations before, and 95% said they intended to visit again on their own. In 2019, we worked with the county to host one at Horsetooth Mountain Park.
We're currently booking our 2021 season (under new Trail Sessions name) and I wanted to see if its possible, and how much it would cost, to have a Session at Red Mountain Open Space on June 6th (or 27th if not available). I understand there is a lot of uncertainty with covid - last year we adhered to the current gathering limits when putting on the concerts (10-25 people) and we didn't do the guided hike portion.
Ideally, we'd have ~50 people attending (if safe) and a Fort Collins Master Naturalist volunteer providing an hour long educational walk near the Red Mountain trail head. Then we'd have an acoustic performance (30 mins each) by local musicians, Bevin Luna and moonmoon.
We will purchase the required event insurance if this is approved. We welcome your photographer if available!
