Our field plots are about 3/4 mile up Towers Road. I am also hoping to access the site starting September 1 and apologize for the late request. FRCC just determined that we could teach field classes with masks and social distancing. I realize I should have put in for the permit earlier and just cancelled it if we were not allowed to teach the course, but of course this did not occur to me until now.
We are requesting vehicle access for the first 3/4 mile of Towers Road for students to access the trail to the forestry plots that FRCC has utilized with County support for over 20 years. There is one lab where we will travel to the prescribed burn with Dr. Peter Brown to discuss dendrochronology and to compare the effects of fire on an ecosystem with an unburned plot.
