Location:

Description:
Due to unknown social distancing guidelines for July 4, 2020, we have three styles of events outlined below that the Town Council will discuss at a later date when there is more clear information of what guidelines will be in place at the time of the 4th of July. At this point, the Town feels as if Plan B or Plan C are more likely, however, we wanted to provide Plan A as an option in the case things turn around more quickly than anticipated.
Plan A: Reduced version of the annual Timnath 4th of July Celebration from past years. We would only host live music and the Pyromusical projected from the stage. We would plan to keep attendees distanced from each other and feel we can do this due to how large the event venue is.
Plan B: Drive In Theater style fireworks. We have a parking lot that is structured perfectly for a drive in firework show. We would use our parking lots as the main event space and would park cars every other spot so vehicles are 10 feet apart. We would open our parking lot just before the show and attendees would be required to stay in or next to their vehicles at all times with the only exception to use the restroom. If patrons do not follow these guidelines, we will ask them to leave. The fireworks would be launched as normal and the musical would be projected through an FM transmitter.
Plan C: If the state and county social distancing guidelines do not permit Plan A or B, the Town will cancel the 4th of July Celebration.

Additional Information Submitted by Applicant

1. Date Submitted: 05/22/2020
The Timnath Council has discussed the 4th of July fireworks display further and has decided to continue planning for a possible fireworks only display for Timnath residents to watch from their houses, with the possibility of hosting 500 cars at the reservoir for drive in fireworks only. Each car would be given one spot in the parking lot that will be painted out for a social distancing barrier. We will not be hosting the musical portion of the fireworks to not encourage residents to come to the reservoir. We would open our parking lot just before the show and attendees would be required to stay in or next to their vehicles at all times with the only exception to use the restroom. Residents will be asked to pack in pack out any trash they have and to only use the restroom in an emergency.

Comments: At this time (May, 28, 2020) Larimer County is still in a pandemic response and Public Health Orders are changing frequently and unknown for July 4th, 2020. Public Health Orders currently do not allow for group outdoor recreation and public gatherings over 10 people. Larimer County’s Variance to the PH Order would potentially allow 11-50 people to gather if the event coordinator can demonstrate compliance with social distancing and other criteria via a written plan approved by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The online form to complete the plan is available on the Larimer County Coronavirus (COVID-19) website provided below. Public gatherings will be re-evaluated June 30th. For the Timnath proposed Plans A & B, please contact the EOC/JIC (joint information center) for approval to proceed as the date draws near.

Please continue to monitor Larimer County's Coronavirus (COVID-19) response website for local restrictions that may differ from the Governor and Colorado Department of Public Health. Though an approval for this Planning Special Event Application is provided today, this is event is subject to the restrictions of the PH Orders in place at the time of the event. Websites for the latest information on community events, face coverings, and physical distancing are provided below.
