Description:
The Gambler 500 (Colorado 2020) event is a nation wide car rally, who's purpose is to clean up the environment as they enjoy Northern Colorado's beauty. Our wish is to host this event's campsites in the large pasture in front of Orville's Restaurant at 98 Eiger Road in Livermore, CO.

This would be our second time hosting this event in as many years. We have changed the date of the event this year in order to provide the event participants better outdoor weather. This event has a minimal impact on the community, as they provide their own water and clean up not only their own trash, but that left by others as well. The Gambler 500 Group has a very strict leave-no-trace policy.

Event participants will begin arriving to set up camp at approximately 8am on 8/14/2020. Participants leave the site at approximately 8am the morning of 8/15/2020 and 8/16/2020. They will travel over 250 miles each day to various destinations provided by the events coordinator, picking up trash all along the way. They plan on returning to the camp sites around 5pm on the evenings of 8/15/2020 and 8/16/2020, with their final departure by 5pm 8/17/2020.

Zero food, alcohol and/or merchandise will be sold within the event site.

At the time of this application, we have no plans for any kind of special event signage.

We will provide 4 additional Port-o-Lets within the camping area and two 3 yard dumpsters to collect and remove all accumulated trash.

This event is run by the Colorado Gambler 500

Edited to add:

We understand the seriousness of the current Covid-19 situation, please rest assured that we will be taking all necessary precautions to keep our event participants, as well as our support staff, safe. We will provide sanitizing stations, masks, gloves and anything else our participants will need to feel safe during this event. We will also be taking temperatures and refusing entry to anyone presenting a temperature of over 100 degrees. We have plenty of camping room to allow for social distancing as well.

Please consider these steps that we are taking when deciding whether or not to approve our Special Events Application.

good morning!
REF: More Info Needed
RESPONSES FOLLOW QUESTIONS, IN CAPS

Agency Requesting Information: Livermore Fire Protection District Four port-o-lets for 250 people over four days does not seem like enough.

WE HAVE 6 ADDITIONAL (PERMANENT) RESTROOM STALLS AT 98 EIGER ROAD, BUT CAN ADD ADDITIONAL PORT-O-LETS IF YOU TELL US HOW MANY WE NEED. TEMPORARY FACILITIES WILL BE SERVICED ON DAY TWO OF THE EVENT.

How many vehicles will be traveling to and from the site each day (estimate)?

THIS IS DEPENDENT ON REGISTRATION - AT THIS POINT OUR ONLY REFERENCE IS 2019 REGISTRATION @ APPX 76 VEHICLES (2-4 PEOPLE PER VEHICLE)

This area is covered by volunteer fire and EMS departments. Response times may be lengthy and transport ambulances must come from town. Helicopter evacuations are resource and weather dependent and is not guaranteed. Can you provide medical assistance to your group?

EVENT COORDINATORS ARE TRAINED IN BASIC MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.

Communications in event of an emergency is poor as there is next to no cell service. How will you request assistance?

WE HAVE A LANDLINE AND CELL SERVICE BOOSTER @ 98 EIGER ROAD FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE

Red Feather Lakes road and US 287 are both dangerous roads for different reasons. How can you help mitigate your participants from traffic hazards on these roads?

EVENT PARTICIPANTS ARE WELL VERSED IN TRAVELING OFF ROAD TYPE SITUATIONS AND HAVE A STRICT LEAVE-NO-ONE-BEHIND POLICY. THE ROUTES ARE CAREFULLY CHOSEN BY EVENT PLANNERS FOR SAFETY CONCERNS, AS WELL AS FOR TIME AND FLOW.

MOST OF OUR EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS HAVE TRAVELED OUR ROADS PREVIOUSLY, BUT EVENT COORDINATORS DO HOLD DAILY SAFETY MEETINGS BEFORE PARTICIPANTS HEAD OUT FOR THE DAY. THESE MEETINGS COVER ALL THE ROADS PARTICIPANTS WILL TRAVEL, NOT JUST US287 OR 74E.
