This is a geology field trip with stops around a Horsetooth Reservoir at Fort Collins, Larimer County, and Lory State Park sites, including a 1.5 - 2 hour stop at Rotary Park. Students will drive private vehicles (about 6 total). From the parking lot, we will first hike west to the sandstone outcrops above the reservoir, then hike east to the top of the landslide deposit overlooking Ponds at Overland subdivision.
The planned date for the trip is Saturday, 4/28/20, the following Saturday (4/25/20) is an alternate in case of weather and/or trail closure. I have left the time as flexible as possible, but during the past 8 or so trips, we have been in and out of Rotary Park between 10:00 and 11:00 am. We will occupy the trails with a group (less than 25) of well-behaved college students for a short period.
All students have signed liability waivers on file at FRCC-Larimer Campus, Natural Science office that include appropriate medical information and contacts.
