Horsetooth Reservoir

Horsetooth Swim Races are an annual event the first Sunday after Labor Day.

The races consist of a 10K race (maximum participants 100) from Satanka Cove to the South Bay Pavilion. Each 10K swimmer is accompanied by a kayak as support and safety. The 2.4 mile, 1 mile and youth 1000m swims are at the South Bay and also have kayak and boat support for safety.

Safety for all swimmers is coordinated with the Coast guard, search and rescue and EMTs.

Parking for the 10K swim is at the Holiday Twin Theater.

1. A certificate of insurance with general liability limits no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 general aggregate. The certificate of insurance must name Larimer County as certificate holder (Larimer County Risk Management 200 W Oak St Suite 4000 Fort Collins, CO 80525) and list Larimer County as an additional insured. Please note that Larimer County does not accept additional insured language that limits additional insured status to that which is “required by contract”, however, "by agreement" is an acceptable addition.
