This event is a 6-person, 12-leg running relay that ultimately goes ~55 miles from Boulder to Ft. Collins. The portion that goes through Larimer County (excluding portions within Cities/Towns) is approximately 9 miles and consists of neighborhood sidewalks and bikepaths and road shoulders.

Please see attached maps for details.

S Shields St / N Taft Ave (~3 miles) between Fossil Creek Rd. and W 57th Ave (excluding portions within the Cities of Ft. Collins and Loveland).
S Taft Ave / Berthoud Parkway (~ 3 miles) between W CO Rd 16 and W CO Rd 8 / Mountain Ave. (excluding portions within the Town of Berthoud)
S CO Rd 15 / E County Line Rd / N 115th St (~ 3 miles) between E CO Rd 6c and CO 66

There is also a runner exchange point at Loveland Church of Christ 4100 S Taft Ave, Loveland, CO 80537 (parcel # 9535318911).

The purpose of the event is to promote and celebrate running and the NoCo craft brewery industry and help support local non-profit organizations through paid volunteer opportunities.

This is a 6-person, 12-leg relay where each leg is between ~3-6 miles. Each team has only 1 runner on the course at any point in time and teams are starting in 'waves' every 20-40 minutes in groups of 10-20. A total of 90-125 runners are expected to pass through Larimer County during a 5-6 hour period, but including inactive runners there will be 600-750 total participants.

No street/sidewalk/trail/path are closed for this race and all participants are to obey all traffic and pedestrian laws.

An overview of the entire course from Boulder to Ft. Collins is attached along with legs 6, 7, 8 and 10 which are in (or are partially in) Larimer County (excluding those portions full within a City/Town). Additionally, the site layout for the exchange location at Loveland Church of Christ is included. Note that volunteers will be available to assist with parking as needed.

The official race guide has been attached. The purpose of the guide is to provide participants with important information about the course as well as the rules and regulations of the relay.

Cascade Relays supplements the receptacles provided by the host of each exchange point by providing separate trash and recyclable containers at each exchange point and the event clean-up crew that follows behind the last runner collects these containers and disposes of them properly.

The race will occur in rain, shine, or snow! However, under certain severe weather conditions or natural disasters such as forest fires or flooding, we reserve the right to cancel the event. Conditions that may result in a race being cancelled include, but are not limited to: severe electrical storm, snowfall, tornadoes, smoke from nearby forest fires, etc.
If there is lightning at the start of the race we reserve the right to delay starts until the lightning clears. If you see lightning on the course after the race has started, get your runner off the road and into the support vehicle. Make a note of the time and the location where you exited the course. If lightning clears within 1 hour put your runner back on the road where they left and make a note of the time. If lightning persists longer than an hour, move ahead to the next exchange. For every hour of lightning you may move ahead one exchange.
Keep close track of where and when you left the course and where and when you returned to the course. At the end of the race we will have a form available for you to report these locations and times. We will then calculate your average pace and apply this pace to the segment of the course that you missed. In this way, we will adjust all overall race times.

Each relay team has a support vehicle that generally leap-frogs their runner from exchange to exchange (~3 - 6 miles apart) and are expected to get their runner off the course and into their support vehicle should weather conditions require.
Typically communication is with team captains who have provided an email and alternative contact information. In the case of cancellation a full email blast along with social media posts would occur.

Popup tents may be used by the vendors at Loveland Church of Christ along with portable toilets. Vendors may just provide samples but may also sell items.
