Soil survey -
Hike in and navigate to the area of investigation using a GPS.

Hand dig a 12 inch hole using a spade to 18 inches deep, then hand auger a 3.5 inch hole to 60 inches deep. Describe the physical characteristics of the soil (color, texture, structure, etc.) pertaining to the layers found. Return all soil to the hole after the description is written. Return the sod to the surface using
