Sagebrush Sessions are a new series of acoustic concerts paired with naturalist guided hikes around Larimer County. Running May-September once a month, Sustain Music and Nature and the Fort Collins Musicians Association feature music by local bands. A short hike (less than 1.5hrs) is followed by a one hour performance of acoustic music. The mission of the Sagebrush Sessions is to introduce band fans to their local natural areas, and to create new audiences for the bands we work with. We want to highlight the wonderful public lands that surround us in Larimer County.
We expect between 10-40 people to attend. We worked with Lory State Park for the inaugural Sagebrush Session earlier this May, and would like to do a session at Horsetooth for June. Our dates have some flexibility, and if this June option is too soon, we'd be interested in reserving dates in August or September.
All activity will be on trails, open to the public and free to attend. We will not be selling merchandise. We'd love to work with a LC naturalist or ranger for the interpretive hike.
We may be interested in reserving an appropriate picnic area for the performance part. Noise, trash, traffic and impact on other park users should be fairly minimal. We are able to purchase insurance for the event once approved.
