This is response of Ned Sparks' (Loveland Fire) concern.....

Yes sir,
This is a nice long drive with a few waves of Jeeps. Although we will have assistance from CSP and Larimer Country Sheriff as well as Johnstown Police briefly blocking a few points in the route, as we did last year, there will be no closures of roads nor blockage of emergency access. Also, no use of tents or cooking vendors on the route.

Does that help?

Thanks Ned.

Comments: Notes from 2018 for 2019

Tracy, it went well in Estes Park. The first wave was very tight and organized. The following waves were harder to identify because they were broken up. The lead car in each wave should notify the officers at each intersection of their wave number.

Next year we need to have a system to communicate to the Estes officers when the first wave is approaching the Narrows (The Dam Store) and tell us how many waves there will be. If we use a cell phone then the call may have to be at Carter Lake to get a connection. There should be a tail car behind the last wave to notify all officers of the end of the event. I know there are stragglers so the officers can stay on post for 10-15 minutes after the tail car. Having the headlights on all participating cars is very helpful. Please see what can be done to get all participants to turn them on.

Additional notes

-Getting 3 waves with over 300 cars from Hwy 34 & Mall Rd to the schools only took about 1.25 hours. Originally they said they would leave at 1000 hours but changed it to 0930 a couple of days before the event. They told the Chief but did not tell me. They need to communicate with me, or both of us, so I can organize the auxiliary officers. The Jeeps left the start staging area at 0930 and arrived in Estes at 10:40:33.

The Health Department has no comments for the road course. It is understood that the post-jaunt celebration will include food, music, vendors and a silent /live auction to be held at the Estes Park Events Complex. A comment was received indicating that food vendors are organized by the Events Complex staff and should consist of food trucks. Please ensure that all food service is from vendors who hold current 2019 Colorado Retail Food Licenses. As part of the Complex site and services, potable water shall be available, restrooms accessible and an adequate number of trash receptacles are available throughout the site especially food service areas.
Thank you!

Comments: Hello, this appears to be a nice long drive and does not appear to have an impact other than a long row of jeeps. Is that accurate? Are any roads or emergency access on public streets going to be blocked? The use of tents over 700 square feet or cooking vendors on the route from Liberty Firearms to Estes Park?
Ned Sparks - Fire Marshal.

Thank you for the information.
