Devil's Backbone Open Space
This is a fundraiser for Loveland's Community Kitchen and will mimic the event we had last year at Devil's Backbone. We plan to start in the parking lot and hike to the Keyhole and back. Last year, with 100 people, the event, including initial instructions and concluding comments took us 1.5 hours at Devil's Backbone. This year, we are requesting 120 people, but if we need to drop it back down to 100, we will do that.
Participants will be charged a registration fee to participate in the event.
We will have a Certificate of Insurance as required for this event.
All participants will be required to sign a participant waiver, which is attached.

Status: ApprovedComments: It was noted that no food nor alcohol will be served. It is understood that a potable water spigot is available at the parking lot. Please encourage participants to bring water receptacles for the hike, but also have bottled water for those that forget or do not have receptacles of their own.
Please have first aid kits on-site for minimal incidents and ensure reliable communication is available if an accident were to occur during the hike.
Restrooms and trash are provided by the park, therefore it shall be Parks and Open land that decide on additional restrooms for the event.

Status: ApprovedComments: Please ensure some type of emergency communication is available to request service from emergency response agencies. The area may not have cellular service and some alternate form of communication may be needed. I have included the fire code references for access to the parking area and if any tents will be used at the site. Have a great event! Ned Sparks 970 962-2488.
Emergency Access: An emergency access path of no less that 20’ wide shall be maintained free and clear of all immovable objects on streets and fire apparatus access roads, at all times during the event. Road blocks may be placed on public streets to prevent traffic from crossing, but cannot block emergency travel. If road blocks are used ensure staff is available to remove barricade should emergency travel be necessary. (2006 IFC, 503.1).
Tent Permits: Any tent or air supported membrane structure greater than 700 square feet requires a tent permit. The LFRA has a policy which provides details for International Fire Code compliance and can be obtained at 410 E 5th St., or on the City of Loveland website under the Fire- Community Safety Division – Fire Prevention Bureau - Special Events, Tents and Membrane Structures
