Parkinson's disease hasn't stopped John Jacquinot from living his life; and for the 5th year he's championing a bike ride to give back to others in the Colorado Parkinson's community. John is hosting the 6th Annual Redneck Ride for Parkinson's on Sunday, August 25th. This 24-mile bike ride in Larimer County will raise awareness of Parkinson's disease and critical funds for individuals in our community. John is on a very fixed income and he knows others with Parkinson's are in his same position. All funds raised from this campaign will be designated to provide low-cost and/or scholarships for exercise and activity programs provided through the Parkinson Association of the Rockies for Coloradoans with Parkinson's. Rocky Mountain Recumbent Bikes is joining us for the ride and will follow participants through the course. They are also offering a bike rental special to event participants: $30.00 to rent a bike for the day.
John has also partnered with others in our community and planned a stop along the way to include lunch and refreshments, as well as a post event gathering to celebrate at the end of the ride. Now he just needs your support. You are welcome to join John for this ride and create some incredible community awareness for Parkinson's disease, make a donation or ask others to contribute. There is no entry fee to participate in this event and, as mentioned above, all donations contributed are reserved for individuals living in our community who cannot afford minimal costs for exercise programs specific for individuals living with Parkinson’s. (FYI: Exercise is the only treatment proven to slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease.) All are welcome to join us for the Event Celebration at 3:00pm at the Big Beaver Brewery.

Email the Special Events Coordinator regarding this application.
Status: ApprovedComments: Cpt Marone has stated that there will be two CSP at this intersection to control traffic. This is a good solution. VMS will be required for this location

Status: ApprovedComments: It was indicated that food will be catered, but additional details are not provided. From the event website, lunch will be hosted again at the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church. Food for the lunch must be from approved, commercial source (for example: grocery store purchased sandwiches, wraps, side dishes; restaurant prepared food like pizza, sandwiches, etc) and prepared according to the Colorado Retail Food Regulations. Food cannot be from a residential home or nonlicensed kitchen.
It is recommended to provide 1-2 portable restrooms to alleviate the septic system of the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church.
The post celebration will be hosted at Big Beaver. Big Beaver has a Colorado Retail license issued by the Larimer County Health Department. The facility is approved for limited food service based on their license.
Big Beaver/Clymb Hard Cider has limited restrooms for their patrons. If the brewery is not closed for the post-race event starting at 3pm, the event coordinator shall provide 1-2 portable restrooms for the additional 100-150 guests.
Ensure that trash receptacles are provided at the church and Big Beaver.

Status: ApprovedComments: Please make sure they do not bunch up and block traffic - especially in the narrows south of the Pennock Pass turnoff. Also, since these are not necessarily experienced riders please make sure they are aware of the cattle guard about 1.5 to 2 miles south of the school. We get lots of accidents there. It is at the bottom of a hill and in a corner. Make sure they slow before crossing it or they won't make the turn. Another cattle guard near MM2 on the Stove Prairie Rd is in a straight stretch but also at the bottom of a hill so again they need to slow to cross safely. Be aware that cell phones generally do not work on most of the Stove Prairie Rd.
