The event is a 10K run/walk and ruck starting and finishing at Spring Canyon Park. The race route is run in the bike lane on City and County roads (see attached map) including Overland Trail (~1 mile), Dixon Canyon Road (~1.2 miles), South Centennial Drive (~1.5 miles), and W CR 38E (~1.3 miles).

Description:
40th annual Colorado Run (one of the oldest races in Fort Collins) moved to Memorial Day and combined with the Memorial Day weekend event at the Veteran's Plaza. The race starts and finishes near the covered shelters in Cottonwood Glen Park. It will be open to all with the options to run, walk. or ruck march. There will be a 3 hour limit for the course with the race starting at 8:00 am. Aid stations will be available along the course and EMS will be on site at the finish.

We would like to add a 5k event that starts at the halfway point of the 10k (top of the hill on Centennial) and thus to increase safety propose closing the North bound lane of Centennial Road for 1 hour from Harmony Rd/WCR38E to Dixon Canyon/N CR 23. 5k Participants would be shuttled from Cottonwood Glen Park to the starting line, no parking would be allowed on the shoulder of Centennial for runners.

Please ensure the food vendor is licensed, or have the vendor contact the Consumer Protection Program of the Larimer County Health Dept for more information to become licensed at 970.498.6776

It is understood that aid stations will be available with water and electrolyte beverage. Any additional food service for runners should be limited to:
=commercially prepared and individually packaged foods and beverages that do not require refrigeration. Examples include packaged power bars, gels, bottled water and juice.
=hot coffee, tea, instant hot beverages
=bagels, muffins, or pastries that are commercially prepared and do not require refrigeration
=whole uncut produce
=Service of water and energy drinks dispensed from clean beverage dispensing containers

Adequate toilets need to be provided at the start/finish area and as necessary at aid stations.

Trash receptacles shall also be provided at aid stations, portable restrooms and the post-race party.

An emergency access path of no less than 20’ wide shall be maintained free and clear of all immovable objects on streets and fire apparatus access roads at all times during the event. Road blocks may be placed on public streets to prevent traffic from crossing, but cannot block emergency travel. If road blocks are used ensure staff is available to remove barricade should emergency travel be necessary. (2015 IFC, 503.4)
