d.   Discussion – What does this mean to you?

e.   Connections

f.   Process

g.   Discussion – How can the committees work towards the vision?

The WIB has worked hard to identify the areas of focus and determine how best the WIB can impact those areas.  Three overarching themes were identified through large and small work groups;

·  Awareness & exposure,

·  Content & messaging and

·  Connections between individuals, companies and institutions.

WIB groups looked at hosting various events; such as career fairs and focus groups.   While there are many challenges and expenses related to hosting large events the decision to move from hosting a career fair is primarily that communication methods have changed.  We can reach more people and communicate with them in audience appropriate ways with a 24/7 virtual community.   The idea behind Workforce 2020 is to create a vibrant, interactive virtual community to address our three areas of focus by engaging our audience through a modern and dynamic platform.
